What Is Meant to Find You Will Not Need to Be Chased

“If the rain that touches your skin travelled miles to find you, then so will everything that is meant for you.”

There is something beautiful about the way life unfolds. A single raindrop can travel thousands of miles through an endless cycle of evaporation, clouds, and shifting winds before eventually finding its way to you. It doesn’t rush, question its journey, or worry about when it will arrive. It simply follows the natural course of existence.

Perhaps there is something we can learn from that.

The Mystery of Timing

We often become so attached to when something should happen that we forget life doesn’t operate according to our expectations. We create timelines for success, relationships, healing, and personal growth. When things don’t happen as quickly as we’d hoped, we begin questioning whether they’re happening at all.

But just because something is taking time doesn’t mean nothing is happening.

Some of the most meaningful experiences in life arrive unexpectedly. A conversation changes our perspective, an opportunity appears when we least expect it, or a difficult experience eventually reveals a lesson we couldn’t recognize at the time.

Not everything meaningful arrives on our preferred schedule.

The Difference Between Chasing and Allowing

There is a difference between working toward something and desperately trying to force it into existence.

Chasing often comes from fear: the fear of missing out, falling behind, or losing something we believe we need to be happy. Allowing, however, comes from trust. It means continuing to put effort into what matters while understanding that not every outcome is within our control.

We can plant seeds, nurture them, and provide the right conditions for growth, but we cannot force them to bloom overnight.

The same is true of our lives.

Finding Peace in the Unknown

One of the greatest forms of inner freedom is learning to become comfortable with uncertainty.

We don’t always know why certain doors close, why people enter or leave our lives, or why particular dreams take longer than expected. Yet we can still find meaning in the present without having every answer.

Surrender doesn’t mean giving up on what matters. It means releasing the exhausting belief that we must control every detail of how our lives unfold.

When we stop trying to force everything into place, we create room to recognize possibilities we might otherwise overlook.

Trust the Journey, Not Just the Destination

Life is constantly moving, even during moments when everything appears still.

The rain doesn’t know whose skin it will touch when it begins its journey. It simply moves through the world, shaped by forces far beyond any single moment.

Perhaps we can approach our own journeys with a similar openness.

Continue growing. Continue showing up for yourself. Pursue what matters, but don’t allow the uncertainty of tomorrow to rob you of the beauty available today.

What belongs in your life won’t always arrive when you expect it, and not everything you desire is guaranteed to come. But you don’t have to chase every possibility to live a meaningful life.

Sometimes, the most peaceful thing we can do is trust ourselves to meet life as it comes.
