There’s a strange pressure that can come with personal growth—the feeling that every day needs to make us wiser, stronger, more disciplined, or more healed.
But life isn’t supposed to be a constant project of fixing ourselves.
Sometimes growth looks like doing absolutely nothing productive. It’s sitting outside without trying to turn the moment into a lesson. It’s enjoying something simply because you enjoy it. It’s allowing yourself to have an ordinary day without wondering whether you’re becoming the person you’re “supposed” to be.
There’s nothing wrong with wanting to grow. The problem begins when we become so focused on our future selves that we stop accepting the person who exists right now.
A tree doesn’t spend every moment reaching upward. There are seasons when its growth is invisible.
Maybe we need those seasons too.
Keep learning. Keep exploring yourself. Keep changing where change feels necessary. But remember that your life is happening between all those milestones.
Some days aren’t meant for becoming.
Some days are simply meant for being.
