Today is my dad’s birthday, and while he passed away last year, I can’t help but reflect on the impact he had on my life. He was more than just a father, he was my biggest cheerleader and supporter in all my endeavors. He encouraged me to follow my passions and always stood by my side through every challenge and triumph.

One of the most valuable lessons he taught me was to always be a class A gentleman. He instilled in me the importance of treating others with respect, kindness, and dignity, no matter their background or circumstance. He modeled this every day, whether it was opening doors for others, saying “please” and “thank you,” or simply offering a smile, or being a good human being, despite the flaws he had he was a good human being and I looked up to him for that.

His support was unwavering, and he believed in me even when I didn’t believe in myself. He pushed me to set goals and work hard to achieve them. When I stumbled, he was always there to help me get back on my feet and try again. He was my coach, my mentor, and my friend.

On his birthday, I’m reminded of the countless memories we shared. From our time taking me to my first football practice when I was young to our deep conversations about life before he died, he was always there for me. Even in his final days, he continued to inspire me with his strength and resilience.

While I miss him dearly, I celebrate his life and legacy on this special day. I honor him by continuing to live my life with integrity and by following the lessons he taught me. I’ll always remember him as a loving father and a true gentleman.

Happy birthday, Dad. Thank you for being my biggest supporter, my mentor, and my friend. Your legacy lives on with your sons, and I’ll always be proud to be your son.
