Poem #2: Remembrance

As I sit here thinking of you, my heart woes and tears ensue. The memories of times we shared, Are all that’s left, for you’re not here.

I miss your laughter, your sweet embrace, The sound of your voice, your warm, kind face. Your presence is always with my heart, but I know that it will never part.

The love we shared, so strong and true, Will always last, and see me through. The moments we had, forever cherished, In my heart, your memory won’t perish.

Though you’ve left this earthly plane, Your spirit lives on, it’s plain. In the wind, the stars, the sky, Your light shines bright, it can’t be denied.

The pain of loss, it cuts so deep, And often times, it feels too steep. But in remembering you, I find peace, A balm for my heart that will never cease.

You were more than just a friend, A confidant until the very end. And though you’ve gone, your love remains, An everlasting bond that never wanes.

Rest in peace, dear one, you’ll always be, a loved memory, always with me. Although I miss you every day, I’ll find a way to honor your legacy.

For in your life, you gave so much, And in your memory, I’ll find the touch, Of love, and light, and hope, and grace, That will guide me through this darkened space.
